In the Spirit of Thanksgiving

People of all gender, faith, ethinicity all stating what they are thankful for - I thought this video was a great representation of what we should all remember to do on Thursday - to thank God for ALL THINGS in our lives.... even if it's just macaroni & cheese :) The guy who was grateful for his skateboard was my favorite.... something so simple but yet meant so much to him! If I didn't want another baby before.....

..... I sure do now! haha, there's just something about seeing my baby take care of "his baby". He got this baby boy doll, named Ian, for his birthday and only recently has he really started to show interest in him. Before it was just "a play thing", but over the last few weeks he has really started to show love towards his "Baby E", as we call him. I walked into the bathroom expecting a huge mess from the lack of noise B was making, but instead I walked into this: He was "changing his diaper"and "washing his hair" with the real wet wipes . Then after he was done he put the outfit back on saying "dere, all cean" - then proceded to give him a hug while rocking the baby from side to side.... SO SWEET! Look out honey...... the floodgates are opening! I've been "getting the itch" for a few weeks now, but I'm really starting to "get the WANT" haha. I probably shouldn't announce this...... but it was too cute not to share :)

One more......

hahahha, ok so I just finished posting "B-ism's" when I realized I needed to post this as well:
I walked into the bathroom to B taking a bath, asking daddy to come get him out;
when Josh said "what's the magic word?"
<which, by the way, he knows is please and when we ask this that's what he usually says>
B replied "iska.....ooos..... mickey mouse!" LOL!
For those who dont' know or who have kids who don't watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,
those are the magic words to make Mickey's Clubhouse appear -
"Miska Mooska Mickey Mouse"
he's just so funny & cute:)

B-ism's

So last night we were watching the new Star Trek that came out on dvd yesterday, that with our killer new home theatre system inevitabley woke B up from sleeping (totally worth it, haha) and after the movie was over he was trying to convince us that he didn't need to go back to bed; to which I told him - "well buddy, mommy & daddy are tired, so we're going to go to bed" "well...... oh-k" "and if mommy and daddy are in bed do you think you should go to your bed?" "uh huh"..... "I tired" "we're tired too" "ya, I tired too"......."I want a rock wih ma"......"where da boddle-cup?" "it's in your hand buddy" "oh...... where my nigh-nigh" "it's right here baby, mommy's got it" "oh ok..... tome on ma" Then he ran into his room, turned on his music, and went back to sleep after a quick little "only one song" rock with mom :) SO CUTE!! Well, as Josh and I were getting ready for bed, laughing at the little conversation, I decided I needed to post all the new phrases B says lately:
~"hhmmm, yet me see here"
~"here'd u go mom"
~Mommy: "you need to move out of mommy's way please" <while making dinner> B: "oh.... sowwy ma, I sowwy"
~B: "I wantta help me" Mommy: "you want to help me?" B: "UH HUUUUH!"
~B: "tima bruh teee" Mommy: "yup, let's brush your teeth", "grab your cup" B: "ok, I get da waah" Mommy: "ok you get the water" B: "I put ih on da odder side" as he puts fills the cup with water then places on the other side of him on the counter so as not to spill it while brushing his teeth......
or else he'd have to announce "OH NO, ih spiwed"
~trying to get me to nap while I was watching tv in my bed he starts to close the door and whispers "goodnight" in a very angelic voice ;
then he reopens the door and says "idcha wake up?" :)
~his most famous phrase is "I wantta wat ickey-mouse on the odder-odder-big-tv" we used to call our old tv the big tv in comparison to the one that's in our bedroom; now it's in our guest room so we have the "big tv", "ma's tv", and "the other-other big tv" :) hehe
~while watching his favorite cartoon Mickey Mouse Clubhouse "yook ma, itda mitery tew" "the mystery mousekatool?" "UH HUUH, wight dere, it toodle" "oh, I see it right there with Toodles", "YAH!" and will then proceed to tell me where all the characters are and what they're doing, or are about to do!

So many things..... who knew!?!

So my diet is going very well! Here is how it's supposed to go:
2 Weeks: Phase 1
2 Weeks: Phase 2
2 Weeks: Phase 3
I have altered it a little, which you're allowed to do depending on how much weight you want to lose....
and if you have more will-power than me :)
I lost 4" during the first week of Phase 1, gained 2 of those back the second week, then lost those 2 during the full two weeks of phase 2! If you're not following that's only a total of 2" in a month. It's going slower but I'm learning a new way of eating and cooking.....
a new way of life where food is involved!
For instance:
~I am able to eat a PBJ simply by using 2 tbsp of PB <which when spread turns out to be alot>, then 2 tbsp of Sugar Free Preserves <smuckers makes a whole line of sugar free condiments, they had every flavor of preserves accept grape>, all on top of two pieces of 100% Whole Grain Whole Wheat Bread <which is actually very good!!> It was the most delicious PBJ I've ever had b/c I knew I was eating health, losing weight, and still my favorite lunch with my son.... win-win-win!
You add a side of Low-Fat Mozzerella String Cheese and voila, you have yourself a yummy lunch that even your kids will eat b/c as far as they're concerned it's just PBJ and Cheese :)
~When I feel like indulging myself I have a Strawberry Sundae!
Did you know that you are better off eating Regular Ice Cream rather than the "low fat, reduced sugar" or whatever else they sell!?! If it's low fat they add more sugar, if it's lower sugar they add more fat.... you can't win! So if you're going to have ice cream, HAVE IT! Just add healthier toppings, such as: strawberries instead of bananas, sugar free sauces instead of regular <smuckers makes sugar free caramel, hershey's makes sugar free choco-sauce!>, and throw some nuts on top.... the ones that haven't been coated in sugar.
~Not that indulging yourself is something you should do every night, but if you're going to "cheat" or indulge do it at night! Some people get confused that if you eat a ton right before bed it sits in your system and you wake up fatter. What you don't know is that if you get a FULL night's sleep it gives your body time to "cleanse" and you basically wake up with "new blood"..... or in other words you wake up with a clean slate! But getting a full nights sleep is the key - on nights I work I don't eat or drink anything but water b/c I know I'm only going to get a few hours. On night that I've had a dessert, and then slept 7-8 hours I kid you not I wake up skinnier, haha, or at least just not fatter!
It's never good to go overboard every single night, but every now and then think to yourself
"do I really want this candy now at 3pm, or would I like to have brownies and ice cream, or a sundae for dessert tonight?" Instead, have a string cheese or some nuts at 3 pm to keep you going <between 3-4 is my weak hour so somedays I end up having a cheese AND a sugar-free-jello :)>
Anyway, I wanted to go back on Phase 1 on the 5th so I could try and lose another 4", but I couldn't even make it through two days without noticing my cravings for B's halloween candy., and I could just see myself failing and getting frustrated like I did a few weeks ago.
I decided to just stick to Phase 2 b/c
losing and feeling good and putting new habits into effect
is better than losing quickly and being miserable the whole time!
I'm even going to try and be on Phase 2 without following the daily regimen laid out in the book, and see if I can do it on my own; I will do this until Thanksgiving, and then see if I need to go back on Phase 1 for a week just after the famous-fattening-dinner :), or if I did good enough to just stay on the book's Phase 2 for a two weeks, and then do it on my own until after the New Year... and I'll revisit the entire situation on January 1st!
Now nobody go get out their rulers but, as of the 4th I'm at 39" - I would like to ultimately be at 30", but I'm flexible :) I would like to lose at least 5" more by December 31st, and then my goal for the New Year will be to start working out again, and hopefully lose that additional 4"... but again I'm flexible and I think I could be happy at 34".... and then just get toned by working out!
We'll see, but I'm really focusing on the fact that it's more important that I'm really excited and that I want it to stay that way - it's more important to me to learn how to cook & eat healthier b/c then my family will also be healthier; that to me is more important than looking skinny right away! This experience has taught me that it'll happen slowly but surely; but the "girl in me" is still fully aware that 2" every 2 weeks is still pretty good.... that comes out to 8" by the end of the year.... which would be a total of 13-14" in 3 months.....
yup, I'm good with that :)
WISH ME LUCK!
